Datapipe has acquired Layered Tech in a move that boosts Datapipe’s managed cloud services capability as well as expands its presence in the federal market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2004, Plano, Texas-based Layered Tech is a midsized, global provider of compliant and secure cloud hosting services that supports mission-critical e-business application and offers FISMA-compliant hosting solutions, according to the company’s website.

A company spokesperson also said that company is working toward offering FedRAMP-compliant solutions.

With this acquisition, Datapipe has launched Datapipe Government Solutions, a new business unit to be led by former president and general manager of Layered Tech Government Solutions. The unit will provide cloud and managed hosting services, the company said.
