Raytheon wins $130M to build new toll system in Massachusetts

Raytheon has won a $130 million contract to provide Massachusetts with an all electronic tolling system.

Raytheon has won a $130 million contract to provide tMassachusetts with an all electronic tolling system.

Under the contract, Raytheon will lead a team of Massachusetts-based companies to convert manual cash and electronic toll collection systems to a new system that will automatically toll vehicles as they travel, allowing drivers to pass through at high speeds, the company said in the release.

Raytheon’s team includes:

SPS New England – Salisbury, Mass.; Construction
CDM Smith – Cambridge, Mass.; Architectural and Engineering & Traffic Management  
Liddell Brothers – Halifax, Mass.; Gantry Installation and AETS Maintenance

Installation is expected to begin in April 2015.
