Maximus subsidiary wins $226M U.K. health care contract

Health Management Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maximus, has won a $226 million contract to support the United Kingdom’s Work and Pensions Department.

Under the contract, Health Management Limited will operate the department’s new Health Work Service program, which was created to help employees manage their medical conditions by providing access to clinical services for non-emergency care, the company said in a release.

The company will provide clinicians who will offer medical assessments and return-to-work plans for employees who have been out of work for four consecutive weeks because of illness, the company said.

Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2019.
