Two small businesses have closed an acquisition that brings together situational awareness technology with global tracking and other aviation related solutions.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Knowmadics is acquiring the assets of Guardian Mobility.

Knowmadics provides situational awareness, tracking solutions and crowd-sourced applications. Guardian has solutions for global tracking, voice and data communications, flight data monitoring and analytics services for the aviation industry.

Guardian counts among its customers the Iraqi Air Force, Texas Department of Safety, Wyoming Fish and Game Agency and a federal law enforcement agency it cannot identify.

Knowmadics has customers with the Canadian National Defense Department, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and several U.S. agencies that it cannot name.

“The agreement with Guardian Mobility allows Knowmadics to offer our customers a comprehensive aviation solution that will include Guardian’s G3, G5, and G7 satellite‐based tracking devices that enable everything from flight following to Flight Data Monitoring solutions”, said Claire Ostrum, president and founder of Knowmadics.

The deal reaffirms the company’s commitment to the Canada market and adds an established product line to Knowmadics, Ostrum said.
