Lockeed acquires data processing, national security firm

Lockheed Martin has acquired Zeta Associates in a move that boosts Lockheed’s information collection and processing capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Once the acquisition is completed, Lockheed said that the Fairfax, Va.-based Zeta Associates will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary within Lockheed Martin’s Space Systems business group.

Zeta Associates was founded in 1984 and specializes in technology for critical national security missions. Its 350 employees are either located in its Fairfax, Va., headquarters or in its Denver, Colo., office.

“Zeta Associates’ expertise in cross-platform information collection, analysis and dissemination is an ideal complement to our national security capabilities,” said Marillyn Hewson, Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO.

The deal is expected to close in third quarter fiscal 2014.

Houlihan Lokey served as advisor to Zeta Associates on the transaction.
