Exelis boosts next gen data sharing with latest acquisition

Exelis has boosted its next generation data sharing capabilities by acquiring Celestech, a privately held technology development and engineering firm.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chantilly, Va.-based Celestech is slated to become part of Exelis’ Electronic Systems division once the acquisition closes.

The company develops technical solutions for government and commercial customers with expertise in advanced signal processing and communications systems. It also provides engineering services and product development for next generation satellite and terrestrial wireless solutions, Exelis said in a release.

“With Celestech, we will be well positioned to expand our C4ISR capabilities and help our customers address increasingly sophisticated threats and adversaries,” said Rich Sorelle, Exelis corporate vice president and president of Exelis Electronic Systems.
