Two to supply, support Navy situational awareness systems
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems and Sechan Electronics Inc. have won contracts to support the Navy's AN-USG-3B Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) airborne systems.
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems has won an $11 million option to provide the Navy with five additional AN-USG-3B Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) airborne systems.
At the same time, Sechan Electronics Inc. has won a $8.7 million contract to provide the Navy with Signal Data Processor - Sierra (SDP-S) assemblies, which provide an open architecture assembly to the CEC systems using commercial-off-the-shelf components.
The CEC is a sensor netting system that improves battle force anti-air warfare capability by extracting and distributing sensor-derived information and makes it available for all participating CEC units, the Defense Department said in a release.
The system improves battle force effectiveness by improving overall situational awareness and by enabling longer range, cooperative, multiple or layered engagement strategies.
Sechan's SDP-S assemblies enable the CEC's processing capability and are use on CEC shipboard, airborne and land mobile platforms to provide a composite network picture, the Defense Department said in a release.
Work is expected to be completed by November 2015.
