Hewlett-Packard just launched a new, Helion managed private cloud product that is focused on the security requirements mandated by public sector agencies, according to FCW.

"Helion's foundation is the ability to bridge traditional IT with next-generation cloud services and being able to integrate those environments seamlessly," Jeff Bergeron, vice president and chief technology officer for HP's U.S. public sector, told FCW.

The new product will allow agencies to migrate to the cloud without upgrading their legacy software beforehand, and will also enable clients to use their own hardware or hardware from HP or another company, allowing HP to offer scalable, metered enterprise cloud services to high-security agencies, FCW reported.
