Six capture $99.4M biometrics contract with Navy

Six companies have won a $99.4 million contract to provide biometric support services in a number of areas to the Navy.

Six companies have won a $99.4 million contract to provide biometric support services in a number of areas to the Navy.

The winners are:

  • American Systems Corp.
  • Booz Allen Hamilton
  • Honeywell Technology Solutions
  • Ideal Innovations
  • SAIC
  • Scientific Research Corp.

The contract has a base value of $33.1 million.

Under the contract, the companies will compete to provide biometric support services in the areas of research and development, investigation, analysis, test and evaluation procurement and reporting for counterterrorism, counterinsurgency and force protection technology needs, intelligence gathering technology, identity exploitation, and the overall development of multi-modal biometric technologies, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed in Charleston, S.C., Washington, D.C., and outside the continental United States, and is expected to be completed by May 2015, or May 2017 with options.
