Citrix acquires Framehawk, bolsters mobile offerings

Citrix has acquired Framehawk and its Framehawk solution, which will be combined with Citrix’s HDX Technology to deliver an unparalleled user experience under adverse network connections.

The Framehawk solution optimizes the delivery of virtual desktops and applications to mobile devices.

The company’s leadership and engineering teams will be integrated into the Enterprise and Service Provider division of Citrix, the company said in a release.

“With enterprises increasingly enabling mobility for their employees, the ability to deliver apps and desktops with the best user experience to any of the billions of devices on the market is of paramount importance,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, Citrix senior vice president and general manager, Enterprise and Service Provider division.

“We find tremendous synergies in combining our technology with Citrix, the recognized leader in desktop and application virtualization,” said Framework CEO and co-founder Peter Badger.

“Enabling businesses to embrace and deliver Windows apps and desktops for all of its employees, regardless of their work location, is a key success metric for both of our companies, and our customers alike,” he said.
