Encompass Digital Media wins $11M for defense video services

Encompass Digital Media Inc. has won a $10.9 million contract to provide the Army with an operations hub to distribute video and imagery.

The hub will transmit and receive broadcast-quality high definition/standard definition video, two-way data, stories, stills, audio and data from Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System worldwide satellite transmitters, the Defense Department said.

The hub will maintain up and downlink service to all government portable satellite transmitter terminals accessing the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System integrated network.

Work will be performed in Atlanta, Ga., and is expected to be completed Dec. 15, 2016.

Funding in the amount of $4.2 million is obligated at the time of the award.
