Exelis wins $7.5M to improve Swedish situational awareness

Contract builds on company’s 30-year partnership with customer

Exelis has won a $7.5 million contract to provide Sweden’s Deployable Airfield Unit with transportable ground control approach capabilities.

This contract extends Exelis’ presence in the global ISR and analytics markets, the company said.

The solution that Exelis will provide improves the deployable airfield unit’s situational awareness and ability to deploy and manage airspace operations.

“This award builds upon our 30-year partnership with Sweden and strengthens our position as the premier supplier of transportable air traffic management systems, a key component in critical transportation networks across Europe and throughout the world,” said Dave Prater, Exelis vice president and general manager of the radar, reconnaissance and undersea systems business.
