Lockheed Martin wins Navy nuclear security contract

Lockheed Martin has won a $10.9 million sole sourced contract with the Navy to increase security at Navy installations nationwide.

The contract has a base worth $9.6 million.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide security hardware, associated software, equipment installation, system test, accreditation, certification and delivery of nuclear weapon security system equipment.

Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., Kings Bay, Ga., Silverdale, Wash., Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., Pittsfield, Mass., and Honolulu, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 2015, or by March 31, 2016 with options.

Funding in the full amount of the base year contract is obligated at the time of the award, $484,750 of which will expire at the end of the fiscal 2013.
