Three Top 100 firms to fight for asset management system

HP, IBM, SAIC set to square off for task orders.

Three Top 100 firms have won a $49.9 million task order contract with the U.S. Navy to help its doctors and health care providers track assets around the world.

The Real Time Location System is an asset management system that enhances property accountability, equipment management, medical equipment maintenance and patient safety within Navy Medicine and all naval medical facilities, the Defense Department said.

The winners are:

  • HP Enterprise Services
  • IBM
  • Science Applications International Corp.

Work will take place throughout all Navy hospitals, medical treatment facilities and branch health clinics inside and outside of the United States.

Funds in the amount of $75,000 were obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire and the end of fiscal 2013.

Nine bids were received for this contract.
