Northrop Grumman wins follow-on for navigation systems support

System will provide Navy aircraft with superior navigation capabilities

Northrop Grumman has won a $13.2 million performance-based follow-on contract to provide logistics, material and technical support to the U.S. Navy.

Under the five-year, firm-fixed price contract, Northrop Grumman will supply material and configuration management services for the AN/ASN-139 Carrier Aircraft Inertial Navigation System, which is used on a number of U.S. Navy and foreign aircraft, Northrop Grumman said in a release.

The AN/ASN-139 system is a ring laser gyro strapdown inertial navigation system that provides better than one nautical mile per hour navigation performance, the company said.
