General Dynamics, Samsung partner on mobile device security

Partnership will help mobile workers bring their own devices to work

General Dynamics C4 Systems has partnered with Samsung to incorporate its “GD Protected” technology into Samsung Galaxy devices running the Samsung KNOX.

Samsung KNOX is an end-to-end secure platform that provides security hardening from the hardware to the application layer, the company said, and GD Protected provides security for commercial smartphones, tablets and applications, including data stored on mobile devices.

GD Protected will be available for purchase when customers buy new Samsung KNOX-enabled devices, which enables mobile workers to access the public internet and secure enterprise networks using a single device, General Dynamics said in a release.

These devices will be available in the second quarter of 2013.
