43 win $495M chemical and bio defense contract

Army contract

Seventy contract awards to 43 companies were made by the Army as part of a $495 million contract for chemical and biological defense.

The U.S. Army Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense made the awards in multiple domains including acquisition, logistics and IT support.

The awards were made in December. A number of contractors won awards in multiple domains, bringing the total number of contractors awarded this contract to 43.

The office that awarded this contract is the Joint Services advanced developer for research, development, acquisition, fielding and life-cycle support of Chemical and Biological Defense equipment and medical countermeasures, according to the GSA's FedBizOpps website.
