Lockheed tapped to sustain sensor systems under $90.6M Army contract
Performance-based logisitcs contract ensures mission effectiveness

Lockheed Martin has won a $90.6 million contract from the Army for sustainment services a target acquisition/night vision system.
Services will go toward the Army’s Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor system.
The contract is a performance-based logistics, firm-fixed-price contract to support mission readiness, reduce operation and support costs and improve reliability and maintainability, the company said.
This is the first of three options awarded under the $111 performance-based logistics contract that Lockheed won in 2012; the total value for the four-year contract is $375 million.
The senor system that Lockheed will be supporting is the advanced electro-optical fire control system that Apache helicopter pilots use for safe flight in day, night or bad weather missions, Lockheed Martin said.
It gives Apache pilots long-range, electro-optical precision engagement and flying capabilities.
