ManTech makes health IT move

ManTech acquires Alta Systems in a move that brings health IT capabilities, and a large Centers for Medicaid and Medicare contract.

ManTech International Corp. has acquired Alta Systems Inc., in a deal that brings the company new health IT and professional services capabilities.

A crown jewel of the deal is Alta’s position on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ $4 billion Enterprise Systems Development contract.

“This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to steadily expand our service offering in the growing healthcare market,” said ManTech Chairman and CEO George J. Pedersen in a statement.

Alta provides services in three major practice areas: capital planning and investment control; system design, development and operation; and fraud detection and statistical analysis.

“Our customers will benefit from the broader service offering of the combined company and our employees will benefit from expanded professional development opportunities,” said Alta CEO Cindy Perlberg.

ManTech used available cash for the acquisition, but the value of the deal was not disclosed.
