RTI acquires research and consulting firm

MPR Associates brings more research capabilities in K-12, adult education

RTI International will acquire MPR Associates Inc., a research and consulting firm that works in K-12 through adult education to augment its research capabilities.

The skills RTI is picking up can help a larger organization use innovation and administrative data analysis to better serve clients, the company said.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ventura Group LLC advised RTI International on the transaction.

MPR was founded in 1981, and its clients include federal, state and local government agencies, as well as nonprofit organizations, businesses and foundations, RTI said.

The two companies have partnered together for the past 20 years on post-secondary education projects for the National Center for Education Statistics in the Education Department.

RTI and MPR are also working together on the recently announced National Center for Innovation in Career and Technical Education contract with the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, which is also in the Education Department.

The deal is expected to close by the end of the current calendar year. MPR will become part of RTI’s education studies division.
