Obama names Top 100 exec to national committee
William Brown joins 29 other CEOs on telecommunications advisory committee

President Obama intends to appoint Harris president and CEO, William Brown, to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, where he will serve alongside 29 other chief executives.
The committee develops recommendations to assure vital telecommunications links through any event or crisis, and to help the government maintain a reliable, secure, and resilient national communications posture, Harris said.
Brown and the other 29 chief executives represent major telecommunications companies, network service providers, and IT, finance and aerospace companies, the company said.
Executives will give advice and recommendations on challenges such as the convergence of traditional and broadband networks, a changing global threat environment, and global expansion continuation of provider and user communities.
Brown took over at Harris in November 2011; before then, he was senior vice president for corporate strategy and development at United Technologies Corp.
