SRA names new COO

Deb Alderson takes over top operational role

Deborah Alderson has been promoted to chief operating officer at SRA International Inc. She had been the company’s executive vice president for strategic development.

She replaces Timothy Atkin, who was named chief administrative officer and chief of staff.

Alderson joined SRA in November 2011 after being fired by Science Applications International Corp., where she was the defense group president. While she was not involved in any wrongdoing, her division was involved in a bribery and kickback scandal in New York City.

In her new position, Alderson will oversee the company’s four main business groups: civil government, defense, health and intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement.

In his new role, Atkin will be responsible for driving more efficient business practices and coordinating cross-organizational initiatives.
