Seven share $900M Navy prize

Companies will compete for battlespace awareness support

Seven companies have won a $900 million contract with the Navy to support systems that provide battlespace awareness

The contract, known as the Battlespace Awareness Support Portfolio Full and Open is worth $899.6 million over five years. According to the Deltek contract database, the Navy is currently using multiple contracts and the new contract consolidates those into a single vehicle.

The winners, according to the Defense Department, are:

  • Booz Allen Hamilton
  • CACI International
  • Centurum Inc.
  • Engility Inc.
  • Lockheed Martin Corp.
  • Science Applications International Corp.
  • Scientific Research Corp.

The companies will compete for task orders under the contract. The base-year of the contract is worth $179.9 million, but option years raise its ceiling to $899.6 million.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command received nine bids for the contract and made seven awards.

According to Deltek, a small business contract worth $250 million was awarded in August, and an 8(a) contract worth $98.8 million was awarded in November. Source selection is still under way for a third small business contract under the Battlespace Awareness umbrella, Deltek said.

Some of the services to be acquired under the contracts include intelligence systems, research and development, command and control systems, engineering services and systems integration.
