Westat acquires research and technology company

Westat has acquired GeoStats, combining their research and technology skills in order to better serve federal, state and local governments and non-government clients.

Westat was founded in 1963, and is an employee-owned professional services company, performing many national and international statistical research projects in health, education, energy, transportation, human services and other fields, it said.

GeoStats was founded in 2000, and is a research and technology company and is recognized for its collection, analysis and presentation of geospatial mobility and physical activity data.

It will remain in Atlanta and its president and founder, Jean Wolf, has joined the management team at Westat. Terms of the acquisition were not released.
