Billions expected in NATO opportunities

The NATO Communications and Information Agency expects to award $2.7 billion in command and control contracts over the next 18 months, according to a report by DefenseNews.

The agency released a forecast which includes work on missile defense, surveillance and identification, satellites and counter terrorism projects.

The agency was formed July 1, and is a combination of several NATO agencies. It recently held its first industry day where the forecast was released.

It also has launched a website that can be used to track new opportunities, and a twitter account: @NCIAAcquisiton.

It will be interesting to see how much of the funding is provided by the United States of America, and how little of the work will be awarded to US owned firms.
