ICF International wins grant to run learning center

company will operate Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center

ICF International has won a $12.1 million grant from the Education Department for the operation of the Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center. The grant will last five years, and is comprised strictly of federal funds.

The Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center is one of 15 regional centers, and will enhance the capacity of education departments in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, in order to help their districts meet student achievement goals, close the gaps in achievement between student subgroups and improve the quality of instruction, ICF said.

“Locating our ARCC efforts at the ICF office in Charleston, W.Va., we look forward to operating the center and assisting the U.S. Department of Education’s efforts to provide state education agencies with intensive technical assistance in support of students,” said Maureen Murphy, senior vice president of ICF International, in a statement.
