Xerox won a $57 million contract with the city San Diego to provide network, voice and data communications services.
The goal of the contract is to improve customer service to citizens and it is expected to save the city $11.1 million, the company said.
Xerox will more the city from its current telecom network infrastructure to a single digital network supporting voice and data communication, which will lower costs and improve service, the company said.
“Our priority is to address the city’s aging network model,” said Jeff Leveroni, CIO, city of San Diego. “Xerox not only presented a forward-looking digital solution, but will also provide the city an outline for enhanced capability, security and growth.”
