Jacobs wins $45M VA energy efficiency contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. won a $45 million contract to provide architectural and engineering services for six Veterans Integrated Service Networks throughout the United States.

The company will support networks in North Carolina and Virginia; Florida and Puerto Rico; Missouri, Kansas, and South Illinois; Central and South Texas; Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska; and Northern California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Guam.

Each service network has a maximum order limit of $7.5 million each, for a total of $45 million. The company will help the Veterans Affairs Department meet federal mandates for energy and sustainability at medical centers and outpatient clinics across its service networks.

Specifically, Jacobs will offer solutions for energy conservation and efficiency, such as integration of renewable energies like geothermal and wind turbines, utility metering and retrocommissioning. The company also will conduct feasibility studies and plan and design projects that increase energy efficiency and water conservation, the company said.
