American Systems hires new VP of capture management

American Systems has hired Kristen Murphy as vice president of capture management.

She’ll oversee processes, personnel and procedures for identifying and winning new business opportunities, the company said.

Murphy joins American Systems from ManTech International where she was director of capture management. She also held similar posts at Computer Sciences Corp. and MTC Technologies.

At American Systems, she’ll support delivery, business development, pricing and proposal organizations. Murphy will drive bid strategies, competitive analyses, pricing strategies and business case development, the company said.

“As we continue to grow the depth and breadth of our capabilities and the new business opportunities that accompany that growth, it is critical that we accurately anticipate and fully understand our customers' requirements,” said James Scampavia, vice president, business development. “Her ability to transform that understanding into winning proposals and execution plans will help American Systems continue to exceed our customers’ expectations."

Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from James Madison University, and a masters of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
