Boeing drops out of $3B competition

Work doesn't fit strategy going forward

Boeing Co. will not compete for a $3 billion contract to support the Air Force’s Launch and Test Range System Integrated Support Contract, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

Last year, Boeing announced its intent to pursue the contract as a prime but it said it was withdrawing from the competition because the work doesn’t fit with the company’s strategy going forward, the Journal’s Jill Aitoro wrote.

Still pursuing the contract are Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Computer Sciences Corp., Northrop Grumman and a joint venture formed by ITT Exelis, BAE Systems and L-3 Communications, the Journal reported.
