HP wins $50M Medicaid contract

HP Enterprise Services won a contract extension to support the Delaware Division of Medicaid and Medicare Assistance as the agency’s fiscal agent.
The three-year contract is worth $50 million and continues work HP has done for the state since 1989. The company will manage the state’s Medicaid management information system, which was the first in the nation to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the company said.
HP also will provide a wide range of other Medicaid services including pharmacy and medical claims processing, eligibility verification, call-center support and administration of the state’s drug rebate program.
The company processes 17 million claims for more than 8,800 health care providers across the state.
Delaware also is part of a 13-state collaborative effort known as the Medical Assistance Incentive Repository, which HP designed to help health care providers adopt electronic health records and track incentives to hospitals, physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other eligible providers.
HP is ranked No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2012 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
