QinetiQ award aims to keep Army vehicles on the road

QinetiQ North America will provide analytic tools and logistics that will help the Army keep track of its tanks and other vehicles under a three-year contract that has an estimated value of $17 million, according to a June 19 news release.

The contract calls for QinetiQ to deliver a Condition-Based Maintenance Plus pilot system to support the Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command in Warren, Mich., formerly known as Tank-automotive and Armaments Command.

For the  program, QinetiQ will deliver analytical tools and an autonomic logistics system to collect and analyze operational data on 2,000 tactical wheeled vehicles worldwide.

The data and tools will allow logistics, operations and maintenance personnel to make more timely and accurate maintenance decisions and integrated logistics processes.

The processes, data collection and analysis procedures and tools are based on ISO 9001:2008, CMMI Level III and Lean Six Sigma certifications.

Recently, QinetiQ supported similar programs for the Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity and the Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command.

QinetiQ, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 38 on Washington Technology’s 2012 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
