CGI gets $91M to maintain San Diego city IT services
Contractor will be responsible for day-to-day development and maintenance of the southern California city’s application portfolio.
CGI Group Inc. will provide application development and maintenance services for San Diego’s more than 165 applications spanning 18 municipal departments under a $91.5 million contract that includes an initial five-year base and a two-year renewal extension.
Local technicians from CGI will assume full responsibility for day-to-day development and maintenance of the city’s diverse application portfolio, allowing municipal workers to focus on priority citizen services, a May 30 CGI announcement said.
CGI experts will bring service-level agreements and IT governance processes to drive performance and efficiency improvements.
“This contract is strategic to crafting the next generation of application services for the City of San Diego,” Jeff Leveroni, director of information technology for the city, said in the statement.
CGI Group Inc. of Montreal, Que., ranks No. 41 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
