Paragon management expands again with second hire in a week

Paragon Technology Group, a provider of strategic technology solutions to the government, has announced its second hire in a week with the addition today of Marc Tommer as chief financial officer.

On May 15 Paragon hired David Gordon, most recently a principal in Booz Allen Hamilton’s health market business, as vice president of its expanding healthcare IT practice.

Tommer will oversee corporate finance, accounting and acquisition strategy for the rapidly growing IT firm and, like Gordon, will report to Paragon Chief Executive Officer Scott Friedlander.

Tommer brings more than 25 years of experience working with publicly traded and growth-oriented companies, the company said in its May 21 announcement.

Most recently he served as vice president of finance at Vangent, a global provider of information management and strategic business process services that was sold to General Dynamics Corp. last October for $960 million.

Tommer previously served as senior vice president of finance for SI International Inc., where over the course of a decade he integrated nine acquisitions into the company and helped to drive annual revenue from zero to nearly $600 million.
