SRA assists FBI create advanced investigative network

SRA International Inc. will help the FBI build its operational response and investigative online network (ORION) program under an eight-year contract that could be worth as much as $19 million if all seven option years are exercised.

ORION is the FBI’s next generation crisis information management system, according to the May 7 SRA announcement.

The system provides case management and related information-processing capabilities in support of federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies in coordinated response to a crisis, during a special event or critical incident. Such events could include political conventions, high-profile sporting events and/or terrorist attacks.

Under the terms of the contract, SRA International will provide operations and maintenance support, program management and other product development support for the system.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 29 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.

How is this Washington Technology newsworthy? It is only for $2.7 M per year, SRA bought the incumbent of Platinum Solutions, and there was minimal competition to win it? This is not worthy of mention next to the $2B Lockheed Martin Protest Win.
