General Dynamics IT pipes aboard Navy tech weapons-systems expert
New VP will support strategic business development and planning for Navy and Marine Corps clients.
General Dynamics Information Technology has hired James McManamon as a vice president within the company’s Navy and Marine Corps Services business unit.
He will be responsible for supporting strategic business development and planning within the company’s Navy and Marines Corps Services sector, the company announced April 13.
McManamon has more than 30 years of experience in resourcing, acquiring, developing and producing highly technical weapon systems for the Navy.
His in-depth knowledge of naval systems, coupled with his skills in financial management and change management, will strengthen the company’s support to current and prospective Navy customers, the announcement said.
Previously, McManamon served as a deputy commander of the Naval Systems Command, where he was responsible for every surface-ship modernization program and the oversight of all maintenance requirements.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
