GE develops digital imaging system for military, civilian use

General Electric Co. has won a five-year $78 million contract to create digital imaging archiving and communication systems for the Defense Logistics Agency, the Defense Department announced March 27.

The firm fixed-price contract calls for GE to provide DLA with Digital Imaging Network-Picture Archive and Communication Systems, components, system options and accessories, upgrades, training, maintenance services, and turnkey installation.

The company will also provide system parts, accessories, upgrades, maintenance and training support.

The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies will use the systems, the announcement said.

The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support office in Philadelphia, Pa. 

General Electric, of Fairfield, Conn., ranks No. 36 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
