QinetiQ appoints Mission and Information Solutions executive VP

QinetiQ North America has named John Sutton general manager and executive vice president of its Mission and Information Solutions business unit.

He will be responsible for revenue and profit generation, customer satisfaction, and employee health and welfare for the business unit, according to a Feb. 7 company announcement.

The unit delivers services and solutions to the Homeland Security Department, the intelligence community, and federal civilian agencies.

Sutton joined QinetiQ North America as senior vice president of business development. Before that, he was executive vice president and general manager of Global Crossing’s Federal Sector.

Prior to that, the former deck officer in the Merchant Marines spent six years as senior vice president of ManTech International's Defense and Intelligence business unit where he led the strategic planning, execution, growth and diversification of its business portfolio.

Sutton has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from George Mason University School of Management and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marine Transportation from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

QinetiQ Group PLC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 43 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
