Firm tapped to protect DHS facilities from violence

Visionary Integration Professionals has won a $17.2 million contract from the Homeland Security Department to oversee and implement a large-scale federal protective service project, according to a Dec. 19 press release.

The project falls under DHS' National Protection and Programs Directorate of the Federal Protective Service, which protects more than 9,000 federally owned and leased buildings, courthouses, properties, and other federal assets from violent acts such as terrorist attacks. In addition, the Federal Protective Service is responsible with the workers associated with those facilities and the public visiting them.

"We are committed to protecting the federal employees and contractors that diligently work to secure our nation," said VIP Vice President Eric Martin in a statement.

VIP, a global technology and managed services company based in Sacramento, Calif., will offer project management, programmer analysis, quality assurance, technical writing, information security, systems and database administration, and SELC documentation support services to the DHS project. The project will be managed out of the company's Alexandria, Va., office.
