HP government leader gets promoted

Dennis Stolkey, who has run Hewlett-Packard’s federal government services business since 2007, has been promoted to a new post for HP Enterprise Services – senior vice president and general manager of the Americas.
His new job is based in Plano, Texas, and places him over all government and commercial business for HP Enterprise Services, an HP spokeswoman said. Stolkey will be responsible for "accelerating market expansion and driving improved revenue and profit," she said.
His successor has not been named yet, but an announcement could come as early as next week, the spokeswoman said.
Stolkey’s roots at the company go back to the days of EDS, where he managed major clients such as General Motors and Bank of America.
He became vice president and general manager of government in September 2007. After HP acquired EDS, he became senior vice president and general manager of public sector.
HP is ranked No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2011 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
