ManTech names new leader of cyber strategy unit

Cybersecurity veteran Ken Silva has been appointed senior vice president for cyber strategy at ManTech International’s Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions group, reporting to L. William Varner, group president and COO.

ManTech International Corp. has named Ken Silva senior vice president for cyber strategy of its Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions group.

Silva will develop and implement ManTech’s cyber strategy across markets and technologies, reporting to L. William Varner, president and COO of ManTech’s MCTS group.

Most recently, Silva was senior executive adviser for cyber technologies at Booz Allen Hamilton. Before that, Silva spent 10 years at VeriSign, where he was senior vice president and chief technology officer.

Before entering the private sector, Silva spent nine years as a technical director at the National Security Agency and 11 years as a senior analyst with the Air Force.

He has been a member of the board of directors of the Information Technology Information Sharing and Analysis Center and served as chairman of the Internet Security Alliance from 2002-2008.

Silva completed advanced technological studies at The George Washington University, the University of Maryland University College, and the National Cryptologic School.
