Harris’ VA task order helps veterans monitor their health care

Harris Corp. has won its first task order under the three-year, $4.5 million My Recovery Plan blanket purchase agreement from the Veterans Affairs Department.
Under this award, the company will support the Medication Monitoring and Tracking Module and the My Goals Module through requirements development, testing and implementation to track medication and treatment for veterans suffering from mental health disorders, the company said in a news release.
The modules allow veterans suffering from mental health disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and substance abuse, to track and organize all information relevant to their recovery.
Launched nationwide in 2003, My HealtheVet is a free, online personal health record that empowers veterans to become informed partners in their health care, the announcement said.
The My Recovery Plan application in the My HealtheVet portal provides a Web-based interface that allows veterans with behavioral or mental health concerns to track important aspects of their self care, including medication intake and self-evaluations.
Harris, of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
