Lockheed locks up purchase of VA medical services provider

California company provides outsourced medical evaluation, other services

Lockheed Martin Corp. has expanded its health care services for the federal government, having completed its acquisition of QTC Holdings Inc., a provider of outsourced medical evaluation services to the Veterans Affairs Department.

Terms of the transaction, which was announced Aug. 22, were not disclosed in the company announcement dated Sept. 27.

Founded in 1981, QTC also provides IT-enabled case management services and health care expertise to the VA, the Defense Department and other U.S. government agencies.

The company, based in Diamond Bar, Calif., processed more than 450,000 evaluations last year for the VA, the announcement states.

Lockheed Martin Corp., of Bethesda, Md., ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
