SAIC continues systems support for Navy warfare center
Task order calls for systems engineering, life cycle integration services

Science Applications International Corp. has been tasked by the Navy with providing systems engineering and life cycle integration services under a five-year award that could be worth more than $38 million if all options are exercised.
Under the task order, SAIC will continue to provide the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division with full life cycle support for its irregular warfare products and services.
Areas covered include prototyping, system and platform integration, system and subsystem analysis and testing, evaluation and certification, safety review, configuration management, logistics, and technology insertion, the company said in an announcement Sept. 15.
NSWC Crane is a Navy shore command under the Naval Sea Systems Command that works to harness the power of technology for the warfighter and specializes in full life cycle support in three mission focus areas: special missions, strategic missions and electronic warfare/information operations, the announcement states.
The task order from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, under the Navy SeaPort-e contract, designates the SAIC services for the Homeland Security Department, the U.S. Special Operations Command and other federal agencies.
SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
