ICF adds public health pro to oversee CDC account

Contractor sees appointment as bolstering its public health work

ICF International Inc. has named Mike Greenwell to the position of vice president responsible for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention account.

Healthcare is a strategic growth area for ICF, and the CDC in particular is an agency in which ICF anticipates significant growth, according to an August 15 ICF announcement.

Greenwell, a public health and communications professional, has extensive experience in health and risk communication across the federal government and the health care industry.

He supported the CDC as a consultant for eight years while serving as vice president of marketing and health communication at Danya International in Atlanta.

Additionally, as a CDC employee, he served 14 years as the communications director for the CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.

Greenwell serves on numerous boards including for the American Heart Association and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association. He also has served as a senior consultant to the Arthritis Foundation, Chronic Fatigue and Immune Deficiency Syndrome Association, and the Interstitial Cystitis Association.

ICF International Inc., of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 64 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
