599 firms named to $10B small-business contract

GSA named 599 companies as winners on its huge STARS II contract for IT services.

The General Services Administration has named 599 companies as winners of its $10 billion 8(a) STARS II contract.

The contract is for a broad range of IT services. The winners are part of the government 8(a) small business set aside program.

The companies will now compete with each other for task orders that can be issued by any government agencies.

GSA has not released the names of all 599 companies. The names of 30 companies were withheld because they received conditional awards, pending additional input from the Small Business Administration, GSA said in its announcement.

GSA said it will update the list once a month to identify when the conditional winners are clear this last hurdle.
