General Dynamics buys a spot on huge DISA contract
Acquisition of Netconn brings access to Encore II vehicle

General Dynamics Corp. has acquired Network Connectivity Solutions Corp., a provider of enterprise services and cloud computing to the Defense Department. The value of the cash transaction was not disclosed in the announcement dated July 18, but the deal brings GD access to the Defense Information Systems Agency's Encore II vehicle.
Founded in 1997, Netconn provides enterprise information technology services to the Defense Information Systems Agency and other DOD agencies.
The company, which is based in Hagerstown, Md., and has approximately 160 employees, supports net-centric IT operations, including data center infrastructure, value engineering, information assurance and edge computing.
It will become part of General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics based in Fairfax, Va.
"Netconn provides IT support to the DOD organizations responsible for enterprise services and cybersecurity; this includes serving as a prime contractor on DISA's ENCORE II contract," Dan Johnson, president of GDIT, said in the announcement.
The McLean Group brokered the deal on behalf of Netconn.
General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
