Two Lockheed execs look forward to Independence Day promotions

Paul Lemmo and Thomas Oles will assume their new duties on July 4th.

For two Lockheed Martin executives, this July 4th could be a day of special celebration. That’s when Paul Lemmo and Thomas Oles assume their new duties for the giant defense contractor.

Lemmo has been promoted to vice president of business development for Lockheed’s Information Systems and Global Solutions business, which is led by Executive Vice President Linda Gooden.

Lemmo succeeds Oles, who has been appointed vice president of strategy and business development for the company’s Electronic Systems business, led by Executive Vice President Marillyn Hewson.

Lemmo currently vice president of business development for Lockheed’s Electronic Systems' Missions Systems and Sensors business, whose programs include the Littoral Combat Ship and Aegis combat system and ballistic missile defense.

A 24-year veteran of Lockheed Martin, he has worked in a variety of engineering, management and business development roles.

Lemmo has a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, as well as an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Oles is currently vice president of business development at IS&GS, which provides a broad spectrum of IT solutions and services to defense, civil, intelligence and international customers. These include operation of the Defense Department's network infrastructure and the FBI's Next Generation Fingerprint Identification system.

He has more than 28 years of technical, managerial and business development experience and has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Florida.

Lockheed Martin Corp., of Bethesda, Md., ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
