SRA leads quintet of DOD BPA awardees

Contractor to provide expertise in engineering, acquisition and program management

SRA International Inc. and four other contractors will vie for tasks under a newly announced Defense Department blanket purchase agreement that has an estimated value of $100 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

The BPA was awarded by the DOD’s Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. The  office has research and engineering teams that solve engineering and acquisition challenges for the DOD, according to an SRA announcement released April 21.

The office also provides thought leadership and develops technical capabilities to support the goals and priorities of the secretary of defense, according to an SRA announcement.

SRA will provide subject matter expertise in engineering, DOD acquisition and program management, and will help the office reduce the cost, acquisition time and risk of DOD’s major defense acquisition program.

An SRA spokesperson said the four other companies named to the award were Booz Allen Hamilton, SA Inc., Anser and Shafer.

SRA International Inc., of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 30 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors. Booz Allen Hamilton, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 9 on the same list.
