New role for CSC North American Public Sector executive

Jose Jimenez will advance the company's diversity and inclusion program

Jose Jimenez, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Strategy and Development division, has been named the company’s chief diversity officer, effective April 2.

Reporting to CSC Chairman, President and CEO Michael Laphen and Denise Peppard, vice president and chief human resources officer, Jimenez will advance the diversity and inclusion program within CSC, according to a company announcement March 30.

In this new role, Jimenez will work closely with CSC executives globally to develop business initiatives that enhance customer and community relationships as well as external and internal communications strategies that strengthen CSC’s ability to attract diverse talent in all markets.

Jimenez recently was honored by the Hispanic IT Executive Council with the Estrella award, which recognizes an industry leader who has made a major contribution to the advancement of technology and diversity.

“With more than 35 years of extensive corporate and government experience, Jose brings deep knowledge of CSC and our clients’ business, as well as a passion for our diversity and inclusion programs,” Laphen said in the announcement.

Prior to serving as president of the North American Public Sector Strategy and Development division, Jimenez was president of CSC’s Enforcement, Security and Intelligence Group.

He joined CSC in 1999 when it acquired Nichols Research and Welkin Associates, where he had been president of national programs for Nichols, and a vice president and business unit leader for Welkin.

Jimenez, a 20-year Navy veteran, has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in management from Troy State University.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 10 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
